steps/mm is the theoretical resolution, in reality it will not move every micro step, and when it does the inter step spacing is not uniform. or re you just meaning this? there are N steps per mm, so each mm can be divided by N for the theoretical resolution. eg 80 steps/mm. 1/80 = 0.0125 @arkypita The resolution helper doesn't seem to have the desired effect. If I have steps per mm at 80 and the desired resolution at 11 lines per mm, the computed resolution is still 11. However 11 is 7.27 steps. Our scanner had an optical resolution of 5080 dpi, resulting in a 4360 x 3720 px image (Super 35 2.35:1). But you could see the film grain very well at that magnification.
